Drew holds on in tight circuit race

The third race of the Mi Aout Bretonne was a short 103 km circuit race on a 5.5 km course in Lorient. The traditional sprint finish brought out the heavy duty sprinters including Manheim's Baden Cooke and Bonjour's Damien Nazon. Before the stage could be set for a sprint though, an group of 6 escaped early in the 18 lap event. The group included Frischkorn (Manheim) and Rudy Kemna (Batavus). Kemna was a serious danger man and Bonjour, Manheim and Collstrop went to the front to bring it back.

With 2 laps to go, Cooke went away with Kirk Willett and a small group of 10 riders who looked to deny the rest. Bonjour went to the front and drove it to the last corner where a small crash made for a hairy sprint. A little bumping between Cooke and Nazon, with Nazon taking it on the line. Overall Leader Manheim's Jamie Drew extended his lead.
