Tour of the Southern Grampians - NEHamilton, Australia, August 2, 2000Tighello hits the leadSt Kilda's Robert Tighello took over the overall lead of the Tattersall's Cup after winning the third round, the Tour of the Southern Grampians. Tighello led home Melbourne's Paul Redenbach and Carnegie teammate Hilton Clarke after the three were part of the decisive seven rider breakaway group. Earlier, a four man break had threatened to steal the race, but were cuaght with 20 kilometres to go leaving Tighello to do what he does best - outsprint the fragments of the bunch for the win. The 23 points he gained from the race means that he now moves into the overall series lead with two races two go. This was made possible by his gaining 10 points for the first race of the series where he was initially disqualified.
