Stefan Adamsson Swedish Cup winner

Team Crescent's Stefan Adamsson won the Swedish Cup, a points classification in the major Swedish races, by winning the last leg, Västboloppet. Olympic TT starter Michael Andersson made the only major attack during the race and had as most a one minute gap half ways through the 178 kms. The Crescent riders neutralized the break and with 40 kms to go they organized a train trusting Adamsson's sprinting abilities. And with major cup opponent Klas Johansson coming in fourth not only the race but also the cup was won by the Swedish Champion.

Coming week end the team will leave for a two month tour of Europé ending at the World Championships in Plouay where a number of the riders will start in the U23 races.

Some lead out

John Nilsson's job in Team Mälarenergi is to lead out the sprint for the team's Norwegian sprinter Öyvind Lillehagen: - He lost my wheel in the last turn so I just had to do the job myself, said the failing lead out man who won the sprint himself. 33 riders stayed together in a criterium with lots of attacks under way but none serious enough to prevent the bunch sprint.
