Treviso: Piazza dei Signori - Piazza Duomo 50.8 kms:

Route Description

The elite men certainly have the most challenging time trial course of all the categories. Whilst the juniors, espoirs and women do not have to scale any large hills, the men have to cope with a 220 m gain in height although the gradient is not savage.

As with all the time trial courses, it starts in the centre of Treviso with a few technical corners to be negotiated before heading out of town on the open road. After gradually climbing to 150 m in 21 km, there is a very short, but steeper section before levelling out to the top of the Montello climb. There follows a slow descent back into Treviso along fairly open roads.

Despite the hill, the course is definitely suited to the stronger, big gear types rather than the lighter "spinners", and should yield a fast average speed.
