Stage 5b - ITT - Battenberg (Eder) - Battenberg (Eder), 32.5 kmsReport: By Tomas Nillson, cyclingnews.com correspondent The 33.9 km Individual Time Trial (ITT) in the afternoon saw German veteran Jens Zemke (Nürnberger) win the stage and the yellow jersey. On Thursday Zemke learned that he was not nominated for the World Championships in Verona, but the victory was no reaction to that. "I just happen to be in form," he said to radsport-news. Two amateurs - Timo Scholz and Florian Wiesinger - followed ahead of Russian pro Edouard Gritsoun (Gerolsteiner) who was one second away from Allan Johansen's yellow jersey before the stage. He defeated the Dane, who came in 18th, but Gritsoun is still seven seconds from winning the race, which will finish on Zemke's home roads tomorrow. Johansen will start in seventh place. The last stage has some climbs in the last 50 km. Tip of the day: An early break with Team Nürnberger's blessing will take care of bonifications and Jens Zemke will win the race in which he was third in 1988.
