Stage 6 - October 26Report: By Tomas Nilsson, cyclingnews.com correspondent Intense heat and a flat road made the stage from Guatemala City to Puerto, San José into a mere procession, ending in a bunch sprint where Mexican Carlos Hernandez won by millimeters from Guatemalan Champion Fernando Escobar. The only attack came at 70 kms when Abel Jocholá (Molino Helvetia-Emceco) and Fernando Alvarado (Xajanal) got away, but their escape only lasted 24 kms. No other attacks occured so Hernandes sprinted for the stage and also ripped the points jersey off Chris Fisher. This was the Mexican's second stage win.
