The Austrian team dominated the first day of the Vuelta a Guatemala. First Joseph Troster attacked with Mexican Miguel Arroyo, but they were caught after 50 kms. A number of minor attacks wore the riders down and with 30 kms were left of the race Bruckner attacked alone and held the others off by more than three minutes. " This year I have won three races in Austria in the same fashion. This is the most important triumph of my career. It was difficult, because of the heavy headwind," commented Bruckner who is 28 years and works as an assistant in a law firm in Vienna.
