Results and Reports for November 16Carnegie-Caulfield CC Criteriums November 14th, 1999 A combined field of 160 riders competed in Carnegie-Caulfield Cycling Club's criterium at Glenvale Crescent Mulgrave, Victoria over the fast, flat 1000-metre circuit of four corners with good wide streets. The strong A grade field reacted to attacks with vicious counter attacks throughout their race. The finale saw a jubilant Robert Wilson account for Rowbotham, Clarke and Salton. B grade split early under sustained pressure and a winning break of ten riders formed. In a hard fought sprint, John Salton got the better of the two noted veteran sprinters, Boone and Salisbury with the judges unable to separate Weir and '64 Olympian, Hollingworth. Rohan McLellan led home the field in C grade in a race that demonstrated the desire of many to lift the level of competition. Finally the youngsters and old men of D grade made a race of it with Patrick Primmer leading home repeated placegetters Ford and Maliekzewski, with Maczysyn fourth.
