The hardest stage of Vuelta a Chiriqui saw a few changes on the GC, and gave the thousands of local fans who lined up the entire route a chance to see the local hero, Alexis Caballero, defend his leaders jersey and move one step closer to clinching this year's Vuelta a Chiriqui title.
A six man breakaway took the top honors, while the yellow jersey group came in 54 seconds behind, enough to secure Caballero's lead going into Sunday's final stage.
