ReportAustralian Patrick Jonker (Rabobank), who rides with a Dutch licence, won the Grand Prix Wallonie alone with two Rabobank colleagues taking second (Leon Van Bon) and third (Koos Moerenhout). On a very tricky parcours, the Rabobank team totally controlled the race throughout, as they have been doing often this year. They placed 4 riders in the decisive attack (14 riders went away) that formed about 50 kms from the finish. On the first climb into the city of Namen (Namur), Koos Moerenhout attacked and led his teammates Van Bon and Jonker by 12 seconds. The Dane Michael Blaudzun tried alone to get across but did not succeed. The three Rabobank riders then attacked again. At the foot of the town (a climb into the city), Patrick Jonker, looking very fresh, dropped Moerenhout, and rode alone to victory. Jambes - Namen, 196 kms:1.
