Report:French rider Laurent Jalabert returned to racing on Sunday with a win in the GP Villafranca which was raced over 177 kms around Ordizia near to San Sebastien. Jalabert has not raced since the Tour de Suisse in June and he won easily from Belgian Andrei Tchmil. A breakaway of 4 - Unai Etxebarria (Euskaltel), Mikel Zarrabeitia (ONCE), White Santi (Vitalicio) and Oscar Seville (Kelme) was caught after some heavy work by his ONCE teammates. Once the attack was neutralised Jalabert attacked alone on the Cat 1 Alto de Bidania (km 128) with 50 kms to go. He increased his lead over the last climb of Mandubia. The world number 1, absent from the Tour de France will race again in Spain at Sabinanigo on Tuesday. He will then ride in Germany the following weekend at the GP Breitling, a two-person time trial. His partner will be Spaniard Abraham Olano. He will then ride the Vuelta which starts on September 4.
