Ludo Dierckxsens to Lampre

Belgian Ludo Dierckxsens (Lotto) will be allowed to ride for the new Italian team Lampre-Daikin. A Judge in Brussel has decided that Dierckxsens, who signed a two-year contract with Lampre in October should be allowed to ride with the new team. He also had a contract with Lotto at the same time. Lotto wanted the rider from the Kempen province to stay with them. The Belgian Cycling Federation were told by the Judge that they must give Dierckxsens a licence from January 1 or pay a daily fine of 50,000 Belgian Franks per day that they are in default. Dierckxsens will be a teammate of Oskar Camenzind and Johan Verstrepen at Lampre.

Van Der Poel could not keep up with the fast pace set by Pontoni and faded to third with Belgian Marc Janssens overtaking him in the final laps to take second.
