The 5th Preuba Challenge (Lloret de Mar) is a 5 stage race open to elites with and without contracts. All stages are in the Spanish village of Lloret de Mar and the race is organised by Dutchman Peter van Acker. The teams are a mixture of Division II (Tonissteiner-Elro Snacks-Colnago, Bel; Spar-RDM, Bel; Batavus-Bankgiroloterij-Big Star, Ned), Division III (AXA Cycling Team, Ned), and elite teams like Giant-Lowik-P&O (Ned), Van Vliet-Weba (Ned), Piels Gazelle (Ned) and local Spanish riders.
