USPRO Criterium Championships, August 22

Mercury Cycling Team's Gord Fraser won the USPRO Criterium Championships Sunday. The Race was held in the Chicago suburb of Downer's Grove and despite a course change, a large crowd turned out to take in the action. Mercury had 5 riders at the front with 1 lap to go and Tony Cruz was outnumbered and Fraser easily took the honours.

Chicago Women's Grand Prix, August 21

The timed 45 minute event was aggressive from the gun with the Schwabb team attacking the field. Marie Holjer of Schwabb attacked with three laps to go and established a gap that saw her clear to the finish for the win. On the small hill on the 1.3 mile figure eight course, Wenzel attacked the women's peloton with a lap and a half to go. She established an immediate gap and stayed away for a solo second place finish. Laura Van Gilder (Navigators) won the field sprint for third over Schwabb's Nicole Freedman.
