1997 Results
Brief:
Davy Delme won his first professional race in the GP Vichte. The action came early
when the Palmans-Ideal rider attacked and built up an 8 minute solo lead.
At the halfway mark, a peloton of 24 had chased him down. Johan Museeuw was
prominent in this group. In the final lap, 5 riders - Feys, Dewaele, Hans De Clercq,
Delme and Ipso-stagiaire Strohle worked well together and built a 20 second gap.
Feys began the final sprint but was easily passed by De Clercq then the others and
was stranded in 5th place.
