Stage 1     Stage 2     Stage 3     Stage 4     Stage 5     Stage 6

Stage 1, Santa Maria a Monte - Santa Maria a Monte, 152 kms:

Finish today was on a very hard hill which had to be climbed twice. The boys rode hard to put themselves in breaks all day. Daniel was on the first significant break and Baden in the 2nd. They all struggled on the climb and lost enough time for us to forget about GC and try for a stage result and the sprint competition.

Stage 2, Volterra - Volterra, 165 kms:

Today was the toughest stage of the tour with every kilometer going either up or down. The field split ot bits and the Aussies did not enjoy the stage. John Pollock was dropped on the 1st climb and climbed off soon after. Baden Cooke was dropped with a large group and after being caught at a level crossing came in outside the time limit. We are now waiting to see whether he can start tomorrow. Sean and Daniel both had hard days but finished OK somewhere around mid field. Baden was still equal leader in the points but didn't wear the jersey as the other guy beat him in the stage.

Stage 6, 150 kms:

Today's stage was 150 km and quite hilly again. Sean Sullivan did not start today as he has a cold comming on and we don't want to aggravate it at this stage. Baden and Daniel had to work very hard to keep things under control until the 1st sprint but they managed and Baden won, wrapping up the sprint competition. The work took it's toll and they were dropped with a large group and rode to the finish to stay inside the time control.

The stage was won by Luca de Angeli. I don't have the final GC for the Aussies but they didn't do anything startling besides winning the Sprint Competition with Baden Cooke.
