Brief:Etienne De Wilde is usually the man for the winter, but since last week he has also been shining in the late summer with a win in the World Madison Championships (with Australian Matthew Gilmore) and then today in the GP Stekene. The 40-year old De Wilde (Bill notes: there is hope for me yet!) is not going to be stopped. He told the press: "This win has done me enormous good. The encouragement in the last km gave me the strength to stay away. It was like the finale of a 6-day race. After the World Madison Race I have ridden a number of criteriums, because I can attract good financial bonuses due to my rainbow jersey. Then I will take a holiday in Spain next week. I will then be back and I think that I have excellent form for the 6-day season. The first six day race in in Denmark (Herning) on October 22."Stekene, 160 kms: 1.
