Brief

There was mass carnage during the third night in the Milan Six. At least four riders were injured, among them Kurt Betschart and Jimmi Madsen. Kim Plesner rang Jens Veggerby to check up on this story and he confirms that Kurt Betschart has broken both his shoulder and collarbone in last night's crash, which seemed to have involved five riders. Jimmi Madsen has injured his knee, but perhaps he will be ready to ride again tonight. Bruno Risi was now teamed up with Jens Veggerby as an interim couple.

Risi (Swi) reserve.

I have received an update on Kurt Betschart's condition from Ady, who lives in Bruno's home village.

Latest News from Kurt Betschart. He was taken from Milan and hospitalized in Altdorf, Switzerland. By the way: Gerald Risi, Bruno's brother was his chauffeur. Kurt has broken two ribs, a broken collar bone and something else wrong with his shoulder. The fact, that Six Day racing will pause for a couple of weeks after Milan is convenient for Bruno and Kurt. Kurt will not undergo surgery, but he will have to stay in bed for some time. Bruno will take these few days off to go to carnival, our greatest one-week-party during the year ... "
