Brief
Spaniard Jesus Blanco Villar, riding for the Portuguese team LA Aluminios-Pecol, won the first European race on the international calendar, Trofeu RDP Algarve. He won the sprint of a six man group after 152 kilometres with start and finish in the Algarve capital Faro. 65 riders started the race with 5 Portuguese and two Spanish teams.
