World time trial champion Sergei Gontchar (Liquigas) has triumphed in his specialty, taking the fourth stage of the Ronde van Nederland in impressive style. Gontchar rode the 23 kilometres from Nordhorn to Denekamp in 26'14, averaging 52.6 km/h to beat Dutch TT Champion Bart Voskamp (BankGiroLoterij) and Olympic Champion Viatcheslav Ekimov (USPS) by 33 and 39 seconds respectively.
