37th Vuelta a Costa Rica - NE, Costa Rica, December 18-29, 2001

The Tour of Costa Rica begins. A total of 70 competitors, among them teams from Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republica, Cuba and Panama, started the race, which consists of a total of 1230 km (764 miles) in eleven stages. The race ends 29 December.
