HEW Cyclassics Cup, Hamburg, Germany, August 7, 2000

German defence minister Rudolf Scharping rides at the start of the Jedermann "Everyman" race prior to the main Cyclassics event. More than 10,000 hobby cyclists competed over different distances. Scharping, a keen hobby cyclist, competed in the 60 kms event.
