Mt Evans Hill Climb

• Jonathan Vaughters came out of retirement to lead the hundreds of citizen riders into the inclement weather.
• Tom Danielson (Fassa Bortolo) came up from Durango to race up Mount Evans. Tom went on to smash the previous record by 4 minutes!
• Scott Moninger (HealthNet/Maxxis) scored a strong second place on the mountain.
• Every rider had to contend with the dense fog and cloud banks during the 28 miles of climbing.
• Chris Brennan (Trek/VW JDR) and Mike Creed (USPS) leading a chase group through the clouds. Brennan went on to take fifth.
• Tom Danielson broke away below treeline and stayed away solo.
• Danielson is a lonely figure on the tundra nearing 14,000' feet elevation. Even with the overnight snow, the roads were clear for racing.

• Scott Moninger recieves his awards for being crowned the National Hill Climb Champion.
