As the sun goes down, the races begin in the "real Vegas" - west of the strip.
Mark McCormack (Fuji) won the Industry cup with a solo attack.

There were just a few starters for Cross Vegas.
Tim Johnson (Cyclocrossworld / Cannondale) in his US champion's kit in the lead.
The men's field was spread out over most of the course.
The women's field chases the leading group.
Georgia Gould, Katie Compton and Katerina Nash led the race.
Katie Compton (Spike) had strong competition from Nash and Gould, but had a bit of luck to take the win.

Lance Armstrong jet setted his way to Vegas after appearing at the UN in New York that morning.
Geoff Kabush (Maxxis) put in a late-race attack that nearly worked.

There was plenty of Las Vegas glitz for the fans to enjoy
Barry Wicks (Kona) was fresh from winning the National Series short track MTB Championship
Ryan Trebon (Kona) got his season off to a great start last weekend in Seattle
Lance Armstrong (Livestrong) was mobbed by the media before and after the race
US National Champion Tim Johnson (Cyclocrossworld.com) on the front row

Adam Craig (Giant) clearly had some fitness left from the Olympics and went on to finish third
