• Judith Arndt (Team Columbia) moved into the overall lead thanks to her third place in the time trial.
• Greta Trier (RDZ Gauss) was close to Judith Arndt (Team Columbia) on time at the middle of the stage but slipped well back by the finish.
• Trixi Worrack (Equipe Nürnberger Versicherung) buries herself in a final lunge for the finish line.
• Noemi Cantele (Team Bigla) wore yellow earlier in the tour but is now in 18th place, 2’11” down on Judith Arndt (Team Columbia) despite a seventh place in the time trial.
