race of the series.

(Amgen) chases the three early leaders.
- Mike McMahon
(Velocity) is chased by Celo Pacific racers.
- Leo Sandoval
(Helen's) is followed by Ted Posch, who is doing his second race of the
day.
- 7th place
finisher Paul Cusick (Dare) negotiates the technical descent.
- In his
first cross race this year mountain bike pro Garnet Vertican (ODI/Southridge)
rides fast enough to take the final cash position -- 8th place.
- Emilio
Cervantes (Excel) is clearly focused and rides strongly to second place.
- Brent Prenzlow
keeps the pressure on at the front.
- Jeff Herring
chases hard in 3rd place at the time.
- 1st year
racer Tony Smith (Celo Pacific) recovers strongly from a poor start and
moves all the way up to 4th place riding just ahead of Herring and Hanson
here.
- John Behrens
(Celo Pacific) takes 9th on the day.
- Brent Prenzlow
gets away on the last lap to take the win.
- Erik Burgan
(Pacific Sunset Velo) who is currently tied with Emilio Cervantes for
second in the points series, moved up from 6th place to 3rd at the finish
with a very strong ending ride.
