• Mongoose's Todd Wells remounts his steed during the early action. While Wells drove the pace for a good part of the day his efforts could only bring him to fifth at the line.
• Clif-Bar's Andy Jacques-Maynes sets off in pursuit of Todd Wells after remounting.
• Marc Gullickson (Redline) crests the day's only uphill section that could be tackled on the bike. His efforts fell just shy of the podium with fourth on the day.
• Easton/Kona/CCA rider Ryan Trebon heads uphill in full stride having negotiated the day's barriers which forced riders to take the hill on foot.
• Andy Jacques-Maynes (Clif-Bar) keeps an eye on his back door as the game of cat and mouse begins in the closing laps
• With half a lap to go Andy Jacques-Maynes (Clif-Bar) laid down the gauntlet as the rest of the lead group stared at each other and held his gap to take the day.
• After not looking comfortable following the attacks and the pace set by the leading group, Ryan Trebon fought hard to take second place as the rest of the lead group fights for the final podium position in his wake.
