2003 Team rostersVerizon Wireless-Cervélo Women's teamThe Verizon Wireless-Cervélo Women's Cycling Team has announced its roster for 2003, its fourth season as a women's team. The returning members this year include Julia Farell, who placed 5th at the 2002 Canadian Nationals, as well as Paula McNamara, 9th at the 2001 Liberty Classic. A new addition to the team this year is Sarah Foulkes. Sarah joined at the end of 2002 and immediately showed her promise, riding aggressively in both the San Rafael and Miami PCT events. In total, 10 women comprise the team, all with full time jobs outside of cycling including an engineer at a pharmaceutical firm, a secondary school science teacher, a physical therapist, a dietician, a business owner, and a former Broadway singer. All of the women are dedicated to their mission - "Women Helping Women!" The team will focus on the NRC and PCT events, as well as select UCI events in North America. Being based in New England, the team is also looking forward to animating the season on the local scene. The Verizon Wireless-Cervélo cycling team is a non-profit cycling team, donating all of our winnings to select charitable organizations. For 2003, the team is again committed to donating its race winnings to the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program, to raise awareness for domestic violence organizations. Over the past three seasons, the team has donated over $15,000 to charity.
