2003 Team rostersVelo BellaVelo Bella, an all female cycling team based out of Monterey, California, has announced its 2003 team roster. The team includes all levels of cyclists from first time racers to seasoned pro's competing in road, mountain bike, track and cyclo-cross events across the country. The road team is anchored by former Olympian and 2002 Commonwealth Games silver medalist, Susy Pryde. Other notable riders include Kathy Lenno, current cyclo-cross national champion (women 30-34), and Shelly Whisenhant, silver medalist at the UCI Masters MTB World's. The team includes 12 elite and 50 amateur members. The road team will compete in the California NRC events including Solano, Redlands, Sea Otter, and other major California races. The mountain bike team will focus on Sea Otter, NORBA NCS, 24 hour events, and North American UCI World Cup events. In addition, Velo Bella will conduct numerous rides, clinics, parties, and volunteer events to further encourage women’s participation in the sport of bicycle racing.
