Great Dane Velo Club announces 2004 roster

Madison, Wisconsin's Great Dane Velo Club has announced its 2004 elite team roster. The team will focus on the Wisconsin Cup competition and the NRC International Cycling Classic but will also compete nationally at select events. In 2003 the team won both the Masters 30+ and the Pro/1/2 category of the Wisconsin Cup.

The Great Dane Velo Club offers one of the most talented groups of cyclists in the Midwest and is comprised of professional working adults, college students and high schools students. A unique aspect of the team is the inclusion of a junior squad (racing age 18 and under). Racing tactics, techniques, and training methods are shared and utilized producing the best junior racing team in the Midwest. In 2003, one of the junior squad members placed 4th overall in the Pro/1/2 Wisconsin Cup Road Series.

"I'm very excited for the 2004 season to get underway," said new Team President John Kunert. "We've got some great new team members and great support from our valued sponsors who make our team possible. Everyone is really motivated to race well and have fun."

As a team, the Great Dane Velo Club provides recognition to its sponsors through participating in races, local community events, and as moving billboards. Programs and events the Great Dane Velo Club has promoted include the GDVC Spring Criterium Series and the Tuesday Night Race Series.
