2005 Team rosters

Great Dane Velo Club

Madison, Wisconsin's Great Dane Velo Club has announced its 2005 elite team roster. The team will focus on the Wisconsin Cup competition and the NRC International Cycling Classic but will also compete nationally at select NRC and other events.

The Great Dane Velo Club is comprised of professional working adults, college students and high school students, and the team includes an U18 junior squad. Racing tactics, techniques, and training methods are shared between the elite and junior riders, producing the best junior racing team in the Midwest.

"I'm very excited for the 2005 season to get under way," said Team President John Kunert. "Our 2005 team is going to be really successful. We have a strong team comprised of both returning riders and new riders."

The 2004 season was a very successful campaign for the Great Dane Velo Club with several race wins along with several state championship medals and excellent results in the season-long Wisconsin Cup Series. The Category 3 Team was exceptionally strong with Adam Blanchard winning both the State Time Trial and State Road Race Championships. For 2005, the Category 3 Team will be looking to continue its strong results.

As a team, the Great Dane Velo Club provides recognition to its sponsors through participating in races, local community events, and as moving billboards. Programs and events the Great Dane Velo Club has promoted include the GDVC Spring Criterium Series and the Tuesday Night Race Series.
