Canberra Off Road Cyclists - Off Road Criterium #4

With most people back in action after the festive season holidays, the fourth off road crit in the series got off to a sensational start with 58 riders turning out to race including a record 12 women. With over 30 riders entering B grade, the decision was made to hold a C Grade Mens race to cater for the increased numbers. The extremely dry and dusty conditions made for some hard racing and some hoarse throats at the end of the race.

Craig Graham and Andrew Cowie led the C Grade Men's race from start to finish. Graham's faster sprint gave him first place ahead of Cowie with new comer Colin Kelly a little way behind in third place.

The B Grade Men's race also saw some exciting racing with Peter Carter again taking first place, just ahead of a close finish between Adam McGrath and Jamie Green, with McGrath the stronger.

The record field of 12 women was great to see. Julia Graczyk and Trish Garrett rode together at the head of the race for the first two laps but a faster second two laps gave Graczyk first place, with Emily Viner making a return to racing finishing in third place.

Brent Miller dominated the A Grade Men's race leading from the start and winning with a comfortable margin from Dave Osmond. A consistent ride from Paul Burbidge Smith gave him third.

Thanks to all who turned up and made the race a success, and to those who helped with regoistration, timing, and course set up and pack up.
