Absalon absolutely fabulous
Following his brilliant performance on March 8 at the Trofeo Cittā di Brescia, World and European U23 champion Julien Absalon scored another success at the second round of the Italian national mountain bike series on a fast and tricky course in Ortona.
Absalon took the lead on the sixth and final lap to claim the win but was then denied the wearing the jersey of series leader by Italian Marco Bui who, according with the rules of this competition, is entitled to wear the leading jersey despite being on equal points with Absalon.
In third place at 20 seconds was Absalon's teammate and fellow countryman, Thomas Dietsch, who finished ahead of Italians Jader Zoli and Massimo de Bertolis.
Nicoletta Bresciani, from Motorex-Bianchi, won the Junior women competition in the category for bikers 17-18 years old.
