Buhl earns second championship at Mount Snow

Melissa Buhl (KHS) ripped down the new downhill course at Mount Snow to win
by three seconds over Marla Streb (Luna Women's MTB). Dawn Bourque (Rhino/Turner)
was third, followed by Darian Harvey (Sobe/Cannondale) in fourth and Allegra
Burch (Velo Bella) in fifth.
On Saturday night Buhl had won the Dual Slalom title to add to her World 4X
Championship.
Kathy Pruitt (Jamis), who had been considered a pre-race favorite, flatted near the top of the track and although she finished was not in contention.
"It's the first time they have brought us into the trees in years," said Buhl. "I prefer the high speeds of the old course, but I loved it and had a lot of fun. You definitely had to deal with roots, speed, slippery mud, and fitness.
"Overall it is one of he hardest courses we've seen in the US," Buhl added.
