Stage 2 - October 18: Monte Verde - Rio Celeste, 97km

Montoya and Arias win lengthy stage

The second stage departed Monteverde on a sunny morning for a race of 97 km. Marathoners Paolo Montoya and Thomas Dietsch showed their talent racing such distances and finished together at the end of the stage. Joris Boillat was delayed by two crashes, but still finished third for the stage. Ana Lucia Arias won her second stage in the women's category.
