Stage 7 - June 7: Oberwiesenthal - Kurort Seiffen, 78.83 km
Craft & Friends Team Bianchi win stage and overall title

Team Vaude-Simplon, consisting of Martin Kiechle and Jan Schmidt, came in second in the final stage (2:50:13) relegating the overall second ranked Lukas Gerum and Roland Golderer from Team Texpa-Simplon to the third spot (2:50:15). Wilko Rochow and Steffen Thum, who finished eighth on the seventh stage, rounded out the final overall ranking as third.
After their fourth stage victory, Kraler was more than pleased. "In the beginning of the Trans Germany we had some bad luck and weren't in shape for 100 percent. We weren't able to compete during the weeks prior to this race. But as the days went by we were getting better and better. That's why we controlled the competition over the last stages. I'm happy that we won."
Although he didn't placed at the top of the rankings, Michael Greis was one of the happy finishers reaching Seiffen. Besides the fact that he lost his team-mate Andreas Birnbacher right after the first stage due to injury, the three-time Olympic Champion took a positive stock: "It was a nice but very intense week. I thought that it would be quieter. But when you pedal in a group you automatically push the pedal," said Greis. "But I always just raced with them and never took over the leading position in order to stay in the slipstream. In the next weeks, I won't train that hard."
Team Cube WLS keeps hold on the title despite flat
For a short time during the final stage Anna-Sofie and Kristine Norgaard questioned the outcome of the race when they faced some scary moments. Kristine's tube and tyre were damaged. "We had to change the tube, so we put in our last one! We also fixed the tyre with an ordinary tape. I was hoping that this would work out," said Kristine after the final stage in which the two Danish sisters finished third (3:14:09).
The tyre repair worked, so the win by Team Rocky Mountain with Alison Sydor and Pia Sundstedt (3:11:02) ahead of Kerstin Brachtendorf and Danièle Troesch from Team Fiat-Rotwild Damen (3:13:26) didn't affect the final standing.
In the end, Team Cube WLS secured their back-to-back title with a lead of 15 minutes over Team Rocky Mountain. "It was a stressful day and for a few minutes I was really scared of losing our lead but it finally worked out. We are super happy that we were able to win again after 2007," said Kristine Norgaard.
Mixed-winners Sachsen Land von Welt for the sixth time on top
The final stage was dominated by the tandem raced by Matthias Mende and Katja Beer. After 3:10:58 hours, team Sachsen Land von Welt reached the finish. The former Junior World Championship runner-up and the former biathlete took 27:10:47 hours for the almost 660 kilometres of the last week. Third on the final stage, Sam Baeten and Agnes Naumann (3:13:28) finished second, almost one hour ahead of the Eleven-Radon-Racingteam with Sebastian Siegert and Daniela Storch.
Sachsenmasters defend title
Sachsenmasters Robert Novotny and Milan Spolc were able to defend their 2007 title (24:48:19) although unlike last year, this year they had to accept that they were beaten once. The two Czechs again performed to win the final stage and overall (2:55:00). Ralph and Timo Berner of Team Erbach im Odenwald who missed the stage podium for the first time (3:06:35) finished second overall. The overall podium was rounded by Mtb Team Forza with Luc van Hoeck and Rudy van Zummeren as third who came in second in the final stage (3:04:38) ahead of Team Schoeneck with Heiko Gessner and Bernd Weinhold (3:05:28).
Long Time bikers claim senior master title – Frankenpower unlucky
In stage six, Klaus Dumler was cheerful despite his hard crash and was hoping to ride in the green leader jerseys together with his team-mate from Frankenpower to Seiffen. But this morning, he had to accept the fact that Harald Hoehn would be the only part of the pairing lining up at the start. Due to this, Switzerland's Long Time Bikers Ferdi Koller and Ueli Schuermann were able to secure the overall victory in the senior master category in 28:57:35 hours right ahead of team Quest (Manfred Ertl and Georg Schollerer, 29:35:17) as well as Fun Corner consisting of Klaus Siedentopf and Helmut Wenzel (31:57:26), who both came in the same order in the final stage.
After the unexpected triumph Ueli Schuermann recalled the last week. "We gave everything we could being curious what might come out. It's a pity that team Frankenpower had to quit the race. We defeated them twice and were more than surprised seeing them coming back in an absolutely incredible way. We are for sure delighted but the second rank would have been OK, too."
Harald Hoehn from team Frankenpower was still able to finish the race, but there was no joy in his face when he entered the finish in Seiffen. "My frustration is big! Klaus (Dumler) was injured so badly so he had to have stitches three times and couldn't ride at all. Despite this, it was a great week which was a lot of fun although we missed our goal of winning."
