Collegiate Mountain Bike Nationals move East

Lees McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina is the host of the 2007 USA Cycling Collegiate National Mountain Bike Championships. Approximately 500 competitors are expected to race cross country, downhill, short track, and dual slalom events. The downhill races will be conducted at Sugar Mountain Resort, the same venue that hosted a round of the National Mountain Bike Series (NMBS) this summer.
In 2006, nationals were held in Angel Fire, New Mexico. In division I, Fort Lewis College took top honors over CU Cycling and Lee's McRae. In division II, Western State College won ahead of Warren Wilson College and University of Montana.
