Seymour yet again

By Shane Stokes irishcycling.com

Robin Seymour raced to a clear victory in the second round of Cycling Ireland’s XC NPS on Sunday in Ballinastoe Wood finishing over seven minutes clear of his closest rival Lewis Ferguson (Team Fergie). The Team WORC rider was a further four and a half minutes ahead of third-placed James McCluskey.

McCluskey’s sister Beth finished best of the women, with Tarja Owens (Team WORC) and XMTB’s Ciara McManus both stopping with punctures before the end of the race.

Andrew Newman bested Robert Tobin and David O’Neill (IMBRC) in the sport category. Johnny McCabe (Cuchullain CC) finished 1 hour and 24 minutes up on William Mulligan (Banbridge CC) and 15 minutes 33 secs ahead of Conal Higgins (Sorrento CC) in the veteran’s race.

The under 16 race fell to Conor McConvey (XMTB) ahead of Graham Boyd (XMTB) and Nathan McCormack (Banbridge CC). Christy Brown Neil McGimpsey and Johnathan Beers ensured a clean sweep for the XMTB team in the under 14 race while their team-mate William Boyd came out in top in the under 12 contast.
