Radical DH Cup Round 1

Manizales, Colombia, December 13-14

On 13 and 14 of December, the Radical Racing DH team held the first Round of the Radical DH Cup-Manizales. It was a national event with the best racers from all around Colombia, including the Silver Panamerican medalists in elite and junior category Juan F. Franco and Andres Jaramillo (Gomitas).

Qualification was on December 13th, with Mauricio Estrada posting the fastest qualifying time in Elite and Juan F. Franco posting the third time after Andres Jaramillo. Then on race day Mauricio Estrada blew his race in the last corners of the course, while Juan F. Franco was at the hot seat grabbing the win in the first round of the Radical Cup. It was the only race this year that had prize money with a purse of US$250, something that is never seen at national races here in Colombia. There were 69 racers overall, making it the biggest race this year in Colombia.
