Näf repeats last weekend's success

Swiss Ralph Näf repeated his success of last weekend's Maremma cup opener with a win again in the kermesse. Näf Multivan Merida teammate Jochen Kass brought further success to his squad by taking second place. Italians Martino Fruet (l'Arcobaleno Carraro Team ) and Tony Longo (Team Full Dynamix) finished third and fourth.

The kermesse ran along the streets of the Tuscan town, starting from the Duomo's steps. Näf put in a strong comeback from third place at the end of the first lap.

Favorites Marco Aurelio Fontana and world champion Nino Schurter were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
