Buhl, Hanak wrap up titles

Newly crowned World 4X Champion Melissa Buhl (Team KHS) wrapped up an amazing NMBS Dual Slalom Season with another win on the slopes of Brian Head Mountain. Buhl's lead in the series was so great that she simply had to start the race to clinch the championship. While she skipped the race at Windham Mountain to race at the Mountain States Cup, Buhl won every other NMBS race she entered. In July she also added another United States of America Dual Slalom National Championship to her long list of accomplishments.
Darien Harvey (Sobe/Cannondale) finished second in the series due to consistent results all season.
Petr Hanak (Totally Wired) from the Czech Republic won the race at Brian Head, also giving him the series title. Hanah won a round earlier in the season at Santa Ynez.
Mike Haderer (Fox Shox/Yeti) finished second in the race today and took second in the series. Haderer rode most of the season with a partially separated shoulder, yet won the Dual Slalom at Windham Mountain. Despite his injury, the spread between Haderer and series winner Hanak was only 24 points.
Eric Carter (Mongoose) finished third in the series after claiming the Dual Slalom national title last month at Mount Snow, Vermont.
