The Way of the Fixie

The essential elements of a fixie:
• a frame with horizontal dropouts
• any old chainset with a 42T ring;
• clearance for mudguards/fenders (you are going to be riding this bike in lousy conditions)
• Front brake only
• As much scrounged equipment as possible
