The feature of the Commonwealth Bank Cycle Classic for the past three years, the Coogee criterium will go twilight in breaking away from the traditional night time criterium under lights.

With this year's event able to capitalise on the daylight saving, the 6.35pn start will allow spectators the opportunity to get to the start and view some of the great action with the twilight and the beautiful backdrop of one of Sydney's best beaches is highlighted in the television packages.

The hot dog circuit is a testing circuit for the riders and generally the best sprinter in the race has every opportunity to win the event.

Although the pace is fast and furious with many attempted breakaways, the past three years has always produced the highest acclaimed sprinter as the winner.

Last year Marcel Wust powered his way home over the uphill finish whilst the year before Jay Sweet bliutzed his rivals with a fast finish that notched him his ninth stage win.

It is the one race that cycling enthusiasts should not miss - the atmosphere is unbelievable and the vantage spots are many in which you can view the entire race action.

The race night will also feature the fifth race of the Singapore Trishaw Grand Prix.
