Stage 13, Milton-Batemans Bay, 120 kms:Saturday, October 30, 1999 |
The Tour enters its 8th day today and the ride from Milton to Batemans bay.
This is a new course for the race, with the organisers decinding to head
further south instead of cutting back inland to Goulburn.
The race will start at Milton after a 50 km car lift from Nowra. The cyclists will continue to race down the Pacific Highway and, after reaching Batemans Bay, will continue on to Moruya via Mogo before returning back to Batemans Bay. It will be a fast undulating stage, sprinkled with a few climbs to offer some good attacking opportunities for the strong emn while the ocean, spectacular rivers and countryside will ensure a wonderful backdrop for television. After the race conclusion in the centre of Batemans Bay CBD, the Cycle Classic will travel inland to Canberra by car in readiness for the final two stages.
