Red Robin tweets with delight

Robin Seymour (Team-WORC) made light work of his victory in Round Two of Cycling Ireland's Cyclo-Cross League in Narrow Water on the fringe of Newry in Co. Down.
He had to contend with being off a minute behind the scratch group, but this did not deter the current Irish champion throwing down the gauntlet. It took Robin on a very technical course set out by Conor Campbell of the promoting club Newry CC. over six laps to overhaul his main rivals, Don Travers (Banbridge CC), Aidan McDonald (Apollo CC), Roger Aiken (Banbridge CC) and Robert Lamont (XMTB) after one lap.
Travers stayed with Seymour for the next lap even managing to overtake him and gain a 20 second advantage over Robin. At the start of the third lap Seymour exerted pressure which ultimately decided the outcome of the event giving the advantage to the champion.
Now, Robin was to remain out in front until the finish with Travers coming in behind his rival almost a minute down. Aidan McDonald certainly on this performance looks one to watch in the upcoming events and his third placing was well merited. Michael Mulvenna of the Ards CC the junior who won in Lurgan finished in eleventh place.
