Seniors

After completing a lap of the road circuit Team Y2K rider Jody Crawforth led the field onto the dirt.

Crawforth wasted no time in establishing a lead and at the end of lap 2 he was away with a group made up of Mick Bell (London Fire Brigade), Ian Field (San Fairy Ann), Warrick Spence (Bikepark.co.uk), Matt Holmes (Arctic 2002/Shortford) and a French rider a handful of seconds down.

Just off this group were Steven Price (De Laune CC) and Ben Lockwood (Invicta CC).

Field lost contact when he punctured twice in successive laps whilst Crawforth seemed to be romping to victory, but in a flurry of action, Spence attacked and Crawforth punctured.

When Crawforth had rejoined the race he was just a few seconds ahead of Spence who had a good lead over the rest. The French bloke and Holmes had in turn prised themselves off the chase leaving Bell to ride to the Veterans category alone.

Spence muttered that his legs had gone and he responded when told that he had got close to the leader. Crawforth in turn reacted and pulled out a few more seconds to win with Spence some 20 seconds down.

Holmes had pulled ahead of the French fella to take 3rd. Once more we saw a race that contained many great battles for London League Points.

Youth

David Woods (VC Deal), James Coop (VC Deal) and Amy Thompson (Bikeplus) went wheel to wheel in the early stages of the Youth race. Thompson fell back to leave the VC Deal duo to contest 1st spot and with the race half run Coop attacked and built a winning lead. Thompson meanwhile had a second wind and was chasing hard and she moved into 2nd when Woods pulled out and she continued to cut Coop's advantage. Coop took the win from Thompson with Tom Smart (VC Deal) in 3rd.
