Robinson and Hannon take wins

Damp weather earlier in the week promised riders some relief from the dusty landfill site across from the 49er football stadium but still created a very fast course for the second round of the Bay Area Super Prestige Cyclo-cross Series.
With Andy Jacques-Maynes, Round 1 winner at Sierra Point, on the sidelines with a break of his newly healed collarbone, his Cal Giant Berries team-mate Justin Robinson absorbed all of the pressure thrown at him to take the race and the leader's jersey. HRS-Rocklobster had flooded the front row of the starting grid with four serious contenders and pressured Robinson throughout the 60 minutes in the Red Zone but Robinson was one of the few who could hop the barricade. The precious few seconds he gained that way every lap gave him a slight cushion over David Wyandt at the finsh. HRS-Rocklobster filled the podium with Wyandt, Josh Snead, and Aaron O'Dell, but they are still looking for their first Super Prestige victory of the season.
Kathleen Hannon surprised the elite women's field to take her first victory in the Series. After finishing tenth at Sierra Point in Round 1, her break-through race came to a head-to-head sprint against Sarah Maile for the victory.

Master 35 competition was one of the tighest all day as four riders hammered each other throughout the event and Gannon Myall gaining the title over Rich Maile and James Coats andTodd Hoefer. With two former National titles amongst them (Coats and Hoefer), Hoefer's 2006 bronze medal and Myall's legendary ride at Providence last December (during which he started in the back of the 142 rider field and rode to a podium), Northern California should field formidable competition for Master's titles this year in Kansas City.
