Results & reports from the USAPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to Cyclingnews Georgia Cyclo-cross series #6 - Macon, GA December 3, 2006Schneider, Sawyer win in GeorgiaBy Trish Albert The Georgia Cross Series held the 6th race of the season, the Georgia State Cross Championship in Macon Georgia on December 3rd. The Mens A race was won by Jed Schneider (Alan Factory) and the state championship was taken by Eric Murphy (Toshiba) who finished as the top Georgian in second place. The race started with the field staying together until Schneider and Murphy broke free and stayed clear of a five-strong chase group including series leader Michael Cummings (KHS/Cycleyouth). Schneider put in the winning move with one lap to go and finished seconds ahead of a hard chasing but ecstatic Murphy. The womens race was once again animated by Travel Girl Duo of Kim Foland and Kim Sawyer putting the hammer down on Ellen Carroll (Outspokin). Carroll chased hard but was at a disadvantage on the open windy course. Sawyer left her teammate a little over half way through the race to claim the state title. The final race of the series will be held at Indian Springs State Park on December 10th.
