• If you thought the sun never shone in England here is proof it does as the riders in the junior race head towards clear blue skies - and its the middle of winter - or at least feels like it!
• Lap 1 of the women's race and Clare Gross leads from Gabby Day and Sue Thomas, with the rest of the field trailing.
• Jody Crawforth attacks Belgian visitor David Willemsens in the elite men's race.
• David Willemsens falls for the second time in the elite men's race and loses more time to the leaders.
• With the sun starting to set (yes, it was out all day), Dave Collins takes flight and leaves Steven Roach (113) to hold on to 3rd place.
• Early on in the elite men's race and Ian Bibby leads Jody Crawforth with the Belgian rider David Willemsens a few lengths adrift.
• Giving as good as he gets - David Willemsens from Belgium attacks Jody Crawforth during the Elite mens race.
• Playing follow the leader in the elite men's race as local rider Steven Roach leads Jody Crawforth through one of the many switch backs on the course.
• Local rider Steven Roach forces the pace on the down hill and at the bottom there were only three of the original four riders left after David Willemsens crashed.
• Dave Collins had a slow start but soon fought his way all to the front to second again behind Crawforth.
• First came the normal victory salute from Jody Crawforth ...
• ...and then the first victory salute of this kind we have seen this year! Way to go Jody!
• Stephen Adams trying to break the yellow jersey Tom Last in the junior race.
• Amy Hunt was riding 'cross less than 12 hours after racing the track in Manchester, finshing 2nd after a fine performance.
• Sue Thomas on her way to yet another fine victory and another confidence building performances after a season or two of injuries.
• Michelle Bergstrand fell and appeared to have hurt her shoulder but got up and bravely finished the race.
• The three riders who made the junior race were all winners of a round in the National Trophy so far; Stephen Adams, Tom Last and eventual winner at Mallory Park David Fletcher.
• The national champion's jersey was seen for the first time in the series as Louise Robinson showed good form to finish 3rd.
• Big fields were the order of the day in the bright sunshine at Mallory Park.
• A far bigger than usual group formed at the front of the veterans over 40 race in the early stages, with local Phil Roach going on to win.
• In the veterans over 40 race Andrew Shaw forces the pace with Phil Roach clinging on whilst Andy Barnard has to give best and starts to fall back
• Annabel Simpson has dominated the girls category in the youth races for the National Trophy series.
• In the under 14 girls, Penny Rowson leads Samantha Bryant with Bryant going on to win that category at Mallory Park.
• Steven Proud comes out of the sun to cross the finish line to complete another lap in the youth race.
• Yet another win for Alex Paton in the youth race as he extended his lead in the series.
• The women's podium (l-r): Amy Thompson (1st junior), Louise Robinson (3rd and 1st veteran), Sue Thomas (1st and new leader of the series) and Amy Hunt (2nd).
• Tom Last (Matlock CC) and Oliver Webster (Triangle RT) are first out of the blocks as they race up the club to the start/finish area and the course proper.
• It took a little coaxing but we got them to smile in the end even though yellow jersey Mick Bell probably didn't feel too happy after 'one of those days'. Phil Roach - he of the biggest smile in the host club's Rugby Velo jersey - is certainly pleased though and is now Bell's closest challenger in the series. On the right is Andrew Shaw (2nd) and on the left is Duncan Walmsley (3rd).
